I’d Hate to Be You When People Find Out What This Song Is About

As what I’ve talked about my recent post, I’ll analyze songs. I’ll start it with this. Ready?

Title: I’d Hate To Be You When People Found Out What This Song Is About
Artist/Band: Mayday Parade

Here’s the lyrics of the song:

And then we both go, down together
We may stay there forever
I’ll just try to get up
And I’m sorry, this wasn’t easy
When I asked you believed me, you never let go

Well I’m thinking of the worst things, that I could say to you
But a promise doesn’t mean a thing, anymore
And this never will be right with me
And now you’re trying desperately
But I’m, tongue-tied and terrified of what I’ll say

And then we both go, down together

We may stay there forever
I’ll just try to get up
And I’m sorry, this wasn’t easy
When I asked you believed me, you never let go
But I let go

And you could sing along
And you could see the melody, that’s been calling out your wrongs
This never will be right with me
And now you’re trying desperately
But I’m, tongue-tied and terrified of what I’ll say

But I never told you everything
I’m losing hope and faded dreams
And every single memory, along the way

And then we both go, down together
We may stay there forever
Just try to get up
And I’m sorry, this wasn’t easy
When I asked you believed me, you never let go
But I let go

And we both go, down together
And stay there forever
Just try to get up

And then we both go down together
We may stay there forever
Just try to get up
And I’m sorry, this wasn’t easy
When I asked you believed me, you never let go

But I let go

For me this song means, a couple (Okay, we’ll name this couple A and B. Oryt?) who had a fight, a really worse one. A is trying to fix things, to fix their relationship. On the other, B do not know what to do, if he’ll listen to A or listen to the other people who are telling him to stop everything. But then, they’ll realized that they’re both wrong, they have done something that led them to that situation, they haven’t told everyhting to each other. It’s like in this situation, B has more fault here, but A was the one fixing things, A really loves B so much he does not even care what really had happened. In time, A had given up fixing things, telling B that he’s sorry for everything that he wanted them back together. B was ready to listen. Their timing was not right. Even if A told B that he’ll stay there. It happened that he had to leave because there’s nothing going on anymore. B’s comeback was too late to fix.

It’s my first time to analyze a song. Sorry for noob work!
